Effects of Regression

Has any history was changed you and your family a lot? I thought that the history to effect me and my family more than any other is Hong Kong’s regression back to China. However, Hong Kong was control of Britain long than one hundred fifty years, Hong Kong was regression to China in July 1, 1997. Hong Kong regression back to China is good news for someone who lives in China’s main land because Hong Kong and the Main Land will consolidate in the same country. The President said “when Hong Kong regression back China, China will maintain Hong Kong’s government never change in the future of those fifty years.” People who live in Hong Kong they believe the government didn’t changed, but their life had change a lot. After Hong Kong regression back to China Hong Kong was changes a lot. There are three greatest changed that the Hong Kong regression to China has had a deleterious effect my family.



One of the greatest changed was the language. Hong Kong had been a bilingual city, and my uncle and I could understand simplified character and Mandarins. Actually we have two kinds of main languages and characters in Chinese; one is Mandarin and simplified character, another one is Cantonese and traditional character. Cantonese in the main language in Hong Kong, almost 100% people who live or were born in Hong Kong they wouldn’t know or understand Mandarin. My uncle is the one of those people. Before Hong Kong regression to China, my uncle and I joined a Mandarin class to learn Mandarin and simplified character. Mandarin will be the second main language in Hong Kong though Hong Kong regression to China. Consequently, Right now simplified characters will appear everywhere in Hong Kong, For example, you will see the simplified character on the guide signs of the streets in Hong Kong and you will hear more people speaking Mandarins in Hong Kong.



Another positive effect is the convenient transportation for my family or the people. Before Hong Kong‘s degenerate ships are the only one vehicle for the Hong Kong people to arrived China. I remember a long time ago when my grandfather went back to his hometown, he had to take a ship. Our family waited for him at the same pier; however, after Hong Kong’s regression to China, the transportation or the vehicle become move conveniences than before. As a result, my grandfather and my father always could choose what kind of vehicle they would take to go back to hometown. Furthermore, the people who lived in the main land could easily visit Hong Kong too. For example, right now there are a lot of traveler groups that visit Hong Kong by bus, train, and airplane. Since those tourists Hong Kong’s economy develops quickly, actually that is good news for the Hong Kong people and every Chinese.

Finally, relative to the economy effect my uncle lost his business. Hong Kong’s economy was running up, but in the opposite the Salary from the work was going down. My grandfather told me before the Hong Kong regression to China, Hong Kong was a gold coast before 1997 that meaning in Hong Kong people were rich, salary was highest and undoubtedly to found a job. Therefore, my uncle lost his business in this economy was develops quickly society, the economy goes up wasn’t helpful for my uncle’s finances. That is the negative effect for my family since Hong Kong’s regression to china. In the direction of the Renminbi (RMB) is appreciation, but the Hong Kong Dollar is depreciation. That is the main reason our family immigrate to another country. My uncle said immigration was the best approach to leave Hong Kong.


In conclusion, there are three greatest changed that the Hong Kong regression to China has had a deleterious effect my family .For example my uncle could understand simplified character and Mandarins, the transportation is convenience for my family went back to hometown and the economy effect my uncle lost his business. Hong Kong regression to China could be the negatives effect also could be the positive effect for the Hong Kong’s people. Every history pass is the main way to effect people lived in that country and effect the government of that country in the future. How was your country history to effect you and your family?
