Changing

Changing, what does is it mean? It can be many things. For China, change can be good or bad. China had a Cultural Revolution from 1966 to 1976. During these ten years, it hurt the Chinese in many ways. After that ten years of the Cultural Revolution. The country’s economy collapsed. In 1978, Deng Xian Ping started the Radical Reformation. The goal was Chinese economic reform and this helped to change the financial problems in China. Because of this, the country has experienced many changes in the past twenty years. Hospitals or medical centers were the places where people would get help. People got food or shampoo in these places. Was it a joke? As a result, every year, the federal government devoted a lot of fund to the local government. Nothing is free today. The rise of health care bills affected my family in three important ways.
Paying for health care bill is major expense in my family. My parents didn’t have to pay for their health care bills until ten years ago. People like my parents worked at factories, and received low wages but they got many benefits from the government. These included living in a house almost for free and free health care. The reason that changed was that the federal government ran out of funds. People such as my parents retired and got an extra 100(about $17 dollars) a month for health care. My mother had a heart attack and now has high blood pressure. She has to take pills daily. Each month her medication costs more than 300(about $40 dollars) and she only gets 1,000(about$140 dollars) a month from her retirement paycheck. Thus, we have a fund bank account for our parents. No matter how much the bill is we have to pay for it because my parents have given their best to my brother and me. These are the biggest issues that live with millions and millions of Chinese families. Hopefully the Chinese government can find a better way for everyone.
Getting a job at the bigger company maybe you will catch some of health care benefits. When I was in China, I used to look for a job that offered health care benefits. Even though the Chinese laws require employers have to pay employee health care, in reality we don’t get it at all. Otherwise, having a job at a bigger company may offer some benefits but not all. For example, I worked at Siemans Company. Once I had a surgery at the hospital, and the bill cost 10,000(about $1,400 dollars). A few weeks later, I got the bill and I needed to pay for half. Some of the medications were expensive and the company health care plan didn’t cover most of them. The economy has moved from one that was controlled to a market economy. Employers always want to offer as few benefits to the employee as possible. The question overall in China, is should the Chinese government to do something more about these problems.
Most people takes care health care bill by themselves. Health care rises faster each year. Ironically, many people can’t pay for it, and lose health care. Not so many government jobs are variable, and also no many jobs include health care for employee. My brother started his business which takes care of his retirement and health care. That is because he won’t get any benefits from the government when he turns older in the future. The China government has a program called “Social Health Care Fund”. The main reason for this is so many people don’t have any health care and the citizens are angry. On other hand, the federal government has run out of the funds. For example, you put 300(about $40 dollars) a month in the fund and continue to do twenty years, When you retire you will get 300(about$ 40 dollars) in your paycheck every month. The rule is unfair, and people don’t do it. Who knows how much health care bills will be twenty years later.
As we know, health care fund is the biggest expense in my family. People who live in the city can reach some of benefits yet, people who live in the countryside get none. As we know, people lives are getting better and better, and China is getting stronger and stronger. On other hand, most people are still living under the poverty line. For China, most of the populations live in countryside, but they get none benefits from the government which is retirement and health care. Hopefully The China government will change these situations in the future.

Vivian, health care is one of those things that all countries have to deal with. It's an issue even here in the U.S.
