i think the story was very good to research, it was in England, a young woman called Rachel Verinde got a large india diamond, and the diamond called the Moonstone, that was her eighteenth birthday. It was from her uncle, a corrupt English army officer who served in India. You know, that diamond was very expensive, how can a india army could owe a diamond like that. The diamond was one of the great religious significance as well as being enormously valuable, and three Hindu priests have dedicated their lives to recovering it. The story incorporates elements of the legendary origins of the Hope Diamond.
Rachel's eighteenth birthday is celebrated with a large party, whose guests include her beau Franklin Blake. She wears the Moonstone on her dress that evening for all to see, including some Indian jugglers who have called at the house. Later that night, the diamond is stolen from Rachel's bedroom. but who?? nobody knew, and Rachel was guessing that night's people were have someone who stolen her diamond.
The Indian jugglers are taken into custody but no stone is found. Rachel refuses to allow the police to question her or search her possessions, raising suspicions. The young housemaid, Rosanna, who happens to be in love with Franklin Blake, also acts suspiciously and then commits suicide by throwing herself into quicksand. Rachel rejects the attentions of Franklin Blake and leaves in an emotional turmoil for London. Now you see alot of infor you got from what i told you, so you can guess what is going on in this story.
